We are looking for a Business Development Manager, Cell Line Development business to work with our expert Genomic Medicine commercial teams in Cytiva USCAN region. What you’ll do

  • The Business Development Manager (BDM), Cell Line Development (CLD) is responsible to provide multi-functional leadership and strategic direction for CLD business in USCAN and will report to Global Commercial Leader CLD in Genomic Medicine.
  • This role is responsible for business development of the Cytiva CLD offerings & will work collaboratively and closely with the global product managers, regional commercial teams and project managers to drive the short- and long-term revenue and profitability of the cell line development business for viral vectors.
  • Act as the primary expert to ensure effective lead and funnel management, gain new customers and develop the market for Cytiva’s new products and capabilities in the viral vector space by managing customer relations and partnerships with pharma and biotech companies as well as leading CDMOs.
  • Develop commercial and sales strategies, identify growth opportunities by analysing and monitoring cell & gene therapy markets, including prospecting for new customers and establishing relationships with them, and develop business cases for Cytiva’s innovative product portfolio.
  • Develop the in-region go-to-market strategy and partner with marketing and commercial teams – account managers, Viral Vector workflow specialists and Field Application Specialists to drive implementation. Liaise with the account managers, sales specialists and field applications teams regarding the differentiation of product offerings during the various stages of the sales process to actively move the customer through their decision-making process towards a successful deal closure.
  • Accountable for sales revenue performance within the region.
  • Continually develop knowledge of products, market and industry trends, competition and customer strategies for potential development
  • Responsible for driving optimal operating mechanisms to monitor and track progress of opportunities in the pipeline as well as forecasting performance against Operating Plan, with their teams.
  • Represent voice of customer internally be advocacy of customer needs
  • Accountable for timely and accurate forecasting of pipeline and sales per the normal reporting cycles
  • Provide input to and contribute to the formulation of the yearly business planning cycles

Who you are
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a Life Science subject or business administration & economics or comparable work experience required
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, account management, product management or strategic innovation development role in the biotech or biopharma industry.
  • Viral Vector or Cell Line Development expertise is preferred. Experience with licensing deals and/or service contracts a must.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, with a self-organized and results-driven personality.
  • Ability to structure and organize the team-oriented workflows and to analyse the actual market situation and identify potential new prospective accounts to accelerate business growth
  • Strong knowledge of the cell and gene therapy markets and of products offered within the industry
  • Results orientated, highly driven, self-motivated and flexible with the determination to succeed within a fast-paced and very sophisticated environment.
